The Porsche Arena witnessed a coronation on Sunday, and the queen was familiar. Elena Rybakina dismantled Karolina Muchova 7-5, 6-1 in 78 minutes to claim the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix title for the second consecutive year.
After winning 12 titles in 12 different cities, Rybakina finally has her first repeat crown. Stuttgart becomes the stage of her clay-court dominance, a venue where her raw power thrives on the indoor surface. This is her 13th WTA title, second of the 2026 season after Abu Dhabi, and it propels her to the top of the Race to Riyadh, ahead of Aryna Sabalenka.
The first set nearly slipped away. Rybakina stormed to a 5-2 lead with aggressive shot-making and a near-impenetrable serve — winning over 78% of first-serve points. But Muchova, true to her fighting spirit, clawed back to 5-5 by varying angles and extending rallies. Rybakina steadied herself at the critical moment, breaking serve to seal the set 7-5.
The second set offered no such drama. Five consecutive games from the start, demolition-style tennis, and Rybakina wrapped it up 6-1. Muchova, who had dispatched Coco Gauff and Elina Svitolina en route to the final, simply had no answer to the champion's intensity.
For Rybakina, Stuttgart validates a 2026 season of elite consistency. Her power, serving reliability and ability to raise her level in key moments make her a natural favorite heading into the clay swing and Roland-Garros. The 2022 Wimbledon champion appears to have found her cruising speed across all surfaces.
