Marta Kostyuk won the first all-Ukrainian Grand Slam quarterfinal in history, defeating Elina Svitolina 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 in one hour and 49 minutes. The 15th seed, unbeaten on clay this season with 17 consecutive wins, becomes the first Ukrainian woman to reach the Roland Garros semifinals in the Open Era. "We had a very difficult night in Ukraine, especially in Kyiv. So many people dead. I dedicate this match to the Ukrainian people and their resilience," Kostyuk said through tears during her on-court interview.
On the other side of the draw, Mirra Andreeva dismantled Sorana Cirstea 6-0, 6-3 in just 56 minutes. The 19-year-old Russian hit 18 winners to Cirstea's four and converted all six break points. With 34 wins in 2026 including 20 on clay, Andreeva leads both WTA tour tallies. She will face Kostyuk in a semifinal loaded with geopolitical significance.
In the men's draw, dispatched 7-6(3), 6-1, 6-3, while ended 's remarkable run 6-4, 6-3, 7-6(3) after missing six match points before sealing the tiebreak. The remaining men's quarterfinals, vs and vs Flavio Cobolli, are scheduled for Wednesday.
